Only 1234 impressed the masses, other are good, but not suits to the situation. Vishal-Shekhar duo is well known to compose hit chartbuster songs in Shahrukh Khan films, but this time their job is average. Overall, Rohit Shetty shtyle works well for this Shahrukh Khan starrer. He fails to give answers of few questions. But he loose his part to pick a weak story into interesting part. All the stunts and chase scenes are outstanding. Rohit is well known for his action sequences, and yes he has done an amazing job as an action director also. In spite of weak story line, Rohit`strong narration keep you in touch with the main content of the film. Mukesh Tiwari (Shamsher Singh) is okay as Police Inspector.Īfter making social sattire 'Singham', Rohit Shetty is again captain of the ship for this action comedy. Niketan Dheer is okay as Thangabali, but he didn`t get much scope in the film. Sathyaraj is completely wasted by writer and director. She has not given any 'Bokwaas' scene in entire film. Her south accent with mixture of hindi is outstanding. Deepika Padukone is marvellous as Tamil girl Meena Lochini. Climax sequence in one of the best part of Shahrukh`s performance. You will again fall in love with SRK`s charm and passion through Rohit Shetty shtyle.
Shahrukh Khan plays Rahul brilliantly in comic and romantic scenes, but he is less effective in action sequences. Overall, screenplay and dialogues are up to the mark, except weak story. Mostly lines are mixture of Rohit Shetty`s massy and Shahrukh Khan`s classy image. Dialogues give you big laugh in entire film. There are some ups and downs in the film, but Sajid-Farhad`s comic and interesting dialogues sets the situations. Yunus Sajwal`s screenplay keep engage the audience with the intense part of the film. Is Rahul able to protect Meena from Thangabali and her Don Father? Climax clear all the answers. So, it is a sweet journey of Rahul from Mumbai to Rameshwaram. Meena run away from home, because he doesn`t want to marry Thangabali (Nikitan Dheer). In the train, he meets Meena Lochini (Deepika Padukone) a girl from Tamil village, Kumban, who is kidnapped by her own cousins, who sent by her Don Father (Sathyaraj). Grand Pa`s wish, he sets out to immerse his mortals remains in the river in Rameshwaram for which he boards the Chennai Express train. His story turns arround a North Indian guy, Rahul (Shahrukh Khan), who lost his parents in very childhood and he is loving grand son of his loving grand parents. His story is quite ordinary with few twist and turns. Subhash has pened the story for this Rohit Shetty venture.
